Third graders in Mississippi are required to take several assessments through the year using some type of technology. One which is the 3rd Gate test which determines whether they are promoted or retained in the 3rd grade. Therefore it is important that they practice using Chromebooks/computers to input their responses. Also, my students are required to take a MAP test to analyze how much they have grown throughout the year. Included in this test is a Math, Reading, Grammar, and Writing section. The Writing is extremely difficult because they have an allotted amount of time to read, plan, and write a response to the question.
