My goal is to create lessons and units which promote cultural awareness in the students through art. The materials from these geography books, such as visual maps and facts, will make a difference in students' learning by providing structural information about world cultures. With my art education background, I will tie in the art that originates in the geographical regions. Some of the books already provide the art part of the lesson. But I will use other resources such as the internet and my own art history books to assist with the art education. From there, I will create art production lessons that will be inspired by the cultural art. As for the pencil sharpener, 600 students a week can benefit from a strong commercial grade sharpener.
