A new classroom rug will provide a place for students to enjoy read alouds, learn new concepts while having close proximity to the teacher, participate in community building games such as the “compliment circle” and morning meetings, pair share with their neighbor, take brain breaks, practice mindfulness through breathing and stretching exercise and provide close access to material presented on the math board, the white board, and the world map. A classroom rug provides a clean safe open space where students can gather and feel part of the community while still having their personal space in each square. Most importantly, this rug will provide the ideal proximity to see the teacher and content, hear the teacher and their classmates, and interact with their teacher and classmates in a clean comfortable setting.
