The books I’m requesting are to keep my students aware of everyday life around certain parts of the world in this case Africa. They will read a true story of a village girl about their age who has to walk a long distance to get water. The other book Because of Mr. Terupt is a book I want to utilize to emphasize unity and respect among students. Unity and respect are something that we need to help students acquire so they can get along with each other. I want my students to leave my classroom knowing the importance of being unified and the importance of respecting each other.
