Flexible seating creates a collaborative classroom environment. It allows students to have more choices and helps them take ownership of their learning. During independent reading, centers and all other independent activities students choose a seating option that works best for them. They then choose a location in the classroom such as: sitting or laying on the carpet, sitting at a table, or sitting or laying under a table. By donating to our classroom project, you will not only help by giving students choices but you will also help motivate them, increase engagement and foster independence. Students with flexible seating make goods choice about where to sit, are more engaged and more proactive in the classroom.
