Because I have my students for two class periods, we have a lot of time to fill, and my students get tired of reading and doing grammar exercises by the end of the week. Catch Phrase will give my students short breaks throughout the week to have fun while still learning new words! Like Water for Chocolate and The House on Mango Street will allow them to progress at their own pace and annotate any words they don't understand. Because I teach at a high school, we often don't have lower level books in the library, and owning their own books will help them feel special!
