I am trying to create a space where middle schoolers work together in small groups to learn music. They will be composing, identifying, creating musical preferences, learning about music history, and reading music articles to expand their understanding of music. Not all students have chosen to be here, but I am determined to make this fun, as well as educational. Having defined spaces for each activity with a variety of seating options will allow for students to stay engaged and excited to move through each activity! The bean bag chairs will allow for students to stay comfortable while they read through a variety of passages and articles related to music. The floor pillows will give students a comfy spot to sit while working through an interactive game to review a topic, such as Bass Clef or Treble Clef Staff identification. These items allow students to feel in a safe space where learning is meant to be fun.
