My students are fifth graders. They are eager to learn and ready to please. The majority come to class with a positive attitude. Many come from low economic backgrounds. Our community is made up primarily of rural agricultural backgrounds. Prior background knowledge is lacking with many of the students in my classroom. Several of my students have never ventured outside of the county or the state of Oklahoma. The school in which they attend is a small rural district. The district consists of four communities consolidated together. The total elementary enrollment for our school is around 350 students.
