My fifth grade students will be our future leaders. They are naturally curious about what is happening in our community and world, and they are eager to be part of the solutions to problems we face. The weekly editions of Scholastic News will keep them informed and spark discussion and debate about current events. What better way to inspire these future voters to take an active role in learning about how current issues impact our society today and in the future. These magazines will be used to strengthen their critical thinking skills, help them form opinions based on evidence, and inspire empathy and civic responsibility.
