A classroom rug is often the first thing students notice when they walk into the room. Kindergarteners are especially nervous and a classroom rug will be inviting and fun for them. This rug will be used to gather students in one area to listen to read alouds, dance, and have fun together. It will be a place of comfort and normalcy for students. The rug will be a place to gather for not only whole group instruction but also a place to do math and literacy centers, independent reading, and a place to have class meetings. The shapes, colors, and words on the rug will provide students an extra resource to aid in their every day learning!
