The College Board has designed a number of exciting lab experiences for the students in AP Biology. However, many of them have high start-up​ costs because new equipment must be purchased. One of these requires the blueGel Electrophoresis machines for which I am requesting donations. I want my students to engage with genetic engineering in the same I did as a graduate student so they can fall in love with molecular biology. I want to share with them my extensive experience in this area, including exposing them to all the exciting careers and opportunities that exist in this field. Most of all, I want them to have experiences in AP Biology that they will remember for the rest of their lives, in the same way I did when I was in high school. I wouldn't have become a scientist if it wasn't for AP Biology, and I want to give to my students an experience like what was given to me so they too can fall in love with science.
