I have asked for a carpet for my classroom for a while now and have been denied. The carpet in my classroom is over 20 years old and feels like it is not padded at all. That is wonderful for spills and such but not for sitting on. Having a comfortable rug to sit on will keep students focused on learning longer instead of how hard the cement floor is to sit on. This colorful rug will give students the opportunity to pick a colored circle and sit on it. They will focus their attention on remaining on that spot until instruction is finished.
