I teach at a primarily low income alternative high high school. The students are mainly on free lunches. The students come to our campus when they have been classified as at-risk for not completing high school. The reasons they are considered at-risk could be many including pregnancy, single parent homes, medical problems, trouble with discipline, incaseration, or absences. It is my goal to keep the environment diverse within the class so that the varying learning styles can be accommodated to help reach students who have previously not been successful in learning.
