Ceiba College Prep mission is to prepare low income students to in non urban communities to graduate from four year colleges. We are here to change the status quo in the Pajaro Valley. In my art class, I use rigor and high expectations to prepare my scholars to get to and through college. I use past and current Scholastic Art Magazines to support an art history learning environment. My 9th graders are taking an intro to art class. We are going through material use, starting with drawing. I hope to start the painting unit by next quarter, starting in early November. My 8th graders are creating artwork based on each element of art. Our focus will be on value, because most of the students want to learn how to draw realistically.
