Books enhance the literature based classroom that I strive to create/maintain. Our classroom library is a place where my students lay down on our "Field of Dreams" baseball inspired carpet with pillows, blankets, flexible seating options, they are encouraged to complete work there, and they read independently! Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of these books have been chosen with my students' 'minds' in mind. These books encourage the mindset thinking that ultimately will lead to "mindful" students. I will use these books to encourage trying, and that mistakes are expected and NOT a failure but rather an attempt. Students with a growth mindset, tend to experience greater success in work, relationships, and life in general than those with a fixed mindset – or people who feel intelligence is set at birth, unmalleable, and impossible to change. I want to be part of this change and help CREATE successful students.
