I want to support my students' learning in the areas of language arts, math, and writing by accommodating or modifying lessons for them. My students show their academic knowledge when they are interactively learning in the lesson. With the use of an interactive easel, students will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities to comprehend new concepts. Currently, our classroom has a small whiteboard which limits the ability to implement interactive learning. I want to incorporate a portable easel into our classroom to increase student interaction in small and whole group instruction. The easel will be used to incorporate interactive learning with the needed accommodations for all learners. Students will receive the opportunity to blend and segment letters by physically moving magnetic letters. Also, they will participate in whole-class interactive math lessons by demonstrating their numbers and number values by using hands-on manipulatives that can be displayed on an easel. The use of the easel will allow me to meet all student accommodations with the tools they need to comprehend new information. The easel will also give me the opportunity to collect data based on how they are able to demonstrate their work when presenting to the whole class or group. The use of the easel in the classroom will support students’ interaction in all lessons when working in small or whole group lessons. Students will be given academic support by the use of the easel to enhance their learning style with interactive learning. All learners will be given the needed tools to be full participants in their learning.
