Students will strengthen their Social Studies skills while also improving their reading comprehension. If this project is funded I will be able to build my classroom library with meaningful texts that will support the curriculum and encourage literacy within my classroom. These students deserve to discover a time in history outside of a textbook. They might imagine they are battling a gladiator entering The Colosseum in Rome, building a Ziggurat in Mesopotamia, or joining in Alexander the Great's military campaigns. These books, posters, and organizational bins will allow me to provide my students with a historically sound library that will further their education.
