Understanding and appreciating nature is the pinnacle of this project. Students will learn about the importance of a top predator in our area and discover its diet. Students will have an opportunity to be a scientist; using their background knowledge of owls and the scientific process. Uncovering what is contained in the pellet by using dissection tools, students will identify the fragments/remnants using a bone reference lab sheet then reconstruct the skeleton of the prey. Connecting students to nature will enhance their cognitive and life skills which of course will benefit other academic areas. Opening a door into one of nature's mysteries will result in a generation of youth as stewards for the natural environment.

About my class
