I am excited to introduce my 4th graders to a new action-filled and electrifying set of books that will hopefully engage all of my students, even those who may not be avid readers. The Treasure Chest Mysteries center around twins Felix and Maisie who find themselves carried back to another time in history! In book one, my students will meet Clara Barton, a pioneer in the field of nursing and the founder of the American Red Cross. I will use this novel to pique my students interest not only as an introduction to a new book series but as a way to learn about important people in our history. This novel will be an amazing addition to my classroom library as well as used as a guided reading activity during our Literacy Block.
