My classroom this year will have a dog theme focusing on "digging into learning" with an emphasis on teaching reading. My students need an environment that will encourage reading! I want my students to have a rocking chair, seat cushions, a reading bench, and book bins. These materials will be used for the students to read comfortablely around the room in different areas of their choosing. It will also give students the ability to feel more comfortable in the classroom as well. Reading time in my classroom is very special. I am also working on building my classroom library with age level appropriate books and seats so every child feels like reading will be their favorite subject of the day!
