All students deserve a comfortable place to read during independent reading in the class library. A carpet in the library would give them this opportunity. Morning meetings are an important part of the day in my classroom in order to build a sense of community. An area rug would provide a comfortable place for all of my students to sit and partake in a morning meeting. While teaching an entire class a lesson, it is important that they are able to have opportunities to learn in areas other than their desk. The class library carpet would give me the opportunity to teach while students are gathered there rather than at their desks.
