Students are working in small groups or with a partner with greater frequency now that they are researching personal projects or creating items during Makerspace activities in the library. At this time, our library has long formica tables and plastic chairs that are at least 25 years old. Students will choose to sit on the floor, rather than using these tables and chairs. I want to start providing small, cozy spaces, like this couch, where they can work effectively with a friend or two, so the library continues to be the "heart of the school" where all children feel welcomed and comfortable.
