The Skull Earbuds will provide the necessary accommodations that my students are entitled to via their Individualized Education Plans (IEP's). My Special Education classroom has limited resources and prior experience reveals that students perform at a higher level when they are focused and comfortable. Teacher observations and student inquiry presented that earbuds are much more comfortable and conducive to learning.
As per a free and public education, I wish to provide my Special Education students with every resource available to receive the curriculum they are entitled to. All of my students require a read-aloud accommodation. I have witnessed when my students choose to utilize their personal earbuds they perform at a higher level on classroom assessments.
My Special Education Department has provided over-the-head headsets that are 10 years old. My students complain that they hurt their ears and give them headaches. I wish to fund my project for earbuds in an effort to relieve discomfort and provide a conducive and effective avenue for learning.
