Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, will help my two groups of kids with building our classroom community. By reading this book, we will learn about empathy and walking in someone else's shoes. We will also learn about trust and bravery. My students will have the opportunity to analyze and make connections to the characters and situations in the story. Throughout the school year, we will continue to draw from Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry. This first story will really set the precedent for our entire school year. Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry will be used as a point of reference in the social arena as well as the academic arena.
