The first-grade students in this class are eager to learn all about time and money but we do not have all the manipulatives necessary to do so. Help me teach the time to count the money. Our students come to school every day with money in their pockets to purchase lunch or snacks in the cafeteria but they have no idea how much money they have, how much anything costs, or even what time we go to lunch. Help these students develop a growth mindset about being mathematicians, discovering the Leader In Me, and being life-long learners. My students will benefit from the flashcards, clocks, manipulatives, write and wipe boards, and games by integrating various learning styles to reach their desired goal of success. The students will have the ability to work independently, as a whole group, and as a small group using the tools listed in my shopping bag. The students will work hard to learn time and money by being met where they are with developmentally appropriate practice.
