My vision for this classroom is to create a calm, safe learning environment for my students. Earth tones have been proven to create a calming effect and create feelings of warmth. The classroom will be a relaxing and safe space for all students. In addition to the soothing effect of its colors, this rug will be used for students to sit on while learning as a whole group and during partner work. Students will each have their own seat along the perimeter as well as on a square in the center of the rug. This will allow for various grouping structures.
