I am new to Kindergarten this year and I am looking for engaging manipulatives and fun imaginative items for my classroom. As we begin the talk of transitioning from an online model to a hybrid model, I can't help but be concerned about the lack of small and fine motor skills that we have missed already in this school year. The lack of manipulatives being used, the missing days of practicing the skills needed to be successful is overwhelming and honestly keeps me up at night. When we come back in small groups for hybrid learning, I want to ensure that my students have the materials they need and be ready to offer my students individual activities. With the items I am requesting, students think they are playing, but really they are learning! I am requesting manipuatives for sorting and math (buttons), language assistance (abc letters), STEM items (blocks, building bricks, geo shapes), as well as imaginative, dramatic play items (such as a kitchen, wooden town, cars and barn / farm animals set.) Also, trays for separating materials and laundry bags for disinfecting items after use.
