Instead of my students starting the morning with a review worksheet, my students will now be able to create, build, engage, and interact with one another. These activities will entice my students to learn in ways that are fun and help them retain core STEM concepts. These items will be ready for play when the children enter the room. The STEM activities will be placed on the students' desks before they enter, so the students can get their minds ready for many other academic tasks. The writing desks will also offer my students the ability to write in any space available in the classroom. The Rising Star Interlocking Building Castle Blocks, NextX Building Construction Toy 3D puzzle, Cossy STEM Learning Toy, Engineering Construction Building Blocks, Elongdi 130 Pieces Magnetic Building Sticks, EMIDO Building Blocks, KIDS Educational Toy STEM Building Discs, Skoolzy Straws and Connector Building kits, EMIDO 480 Piece Building Toy Building Block Bars Engineering Set, 163 Piece STEM Toy kit, and Educational Construction Engineering Blocks will be used as moving work, free time, and available when their work is complete. The Learning Resource Code and GO Robot Mouse Activity Set will also be used as a learning tool during our Hour of Code week! The Surf Portable Lap Desk/writing table will be used during writing time as an alternative seating choice. Fluorescent Light Filters will be used to block the fluorescent lights in order to create a calming atmosphere in the classroom. The Soft Glow Silent Timer and Light will allow students to relax while taking a needed break and gently let them know when return to the group. Multi Maris Triangles Area Rug will be used during story time, as a comfortable place to sit.
