My students are behind in their foundational mathematics skills. I am teaching a program designed for students 1-3 years behind in math, and it requires double the typical classroom time. We meet for over 2 hours daily. My students are troopers, but they need better seats and a chance to stretch and move throughout that time period without becoming a disruption to others. Our old elementary/middle school desks don't fit many of my high school students, besides the fact that they are hard and uncomfortable. I am seeking the donation of YOGA BALLS AS CHAIRS for my students. The added bonus, besides comfort, is that students gain better posture, strengthen core muscles, and stay awake while sitting on these in class. You should have seen the smiles on their faces when I bought two yoga balls as experimental seating for this class. I would love all students to have the opportunity for flexible seating.
