My students have a great thirst for knowledge but sometimes forget to slow down and enjoy a good book! I am blessed with a robust classroom library but lack an inviting environment for them to get cozy and lost in a good book. My hope is to teach students what Stephen King means about reading being “uniquely portable magic!” My goal is to transform a corner of my classroom room into a reading oasis with a carpet and seating, where students can choose a book of their choice from book bins and get comfy, cozy, and lost in a reading adventure and appreciate reading as true pleasure!
