I am excited to start my new adventure as a 1st grade teacher this year! I am looking for nonfiction and fiction books for my first grade classroom! Students will use these books for personal reading choices during read to self and reading with a partner. I will also use these books as a read alouds during story time. Students will benefit from these books used as supplemental texts for language arts, science, social studies and math. My personal story: After 9 years as an instructional aide at our local elementary school in 2015 I decided to go back to school to become certified to teach K-8 with an ELL endorsement. In the last two years I have been our school librarian and an ELL teacher. Most recently I started an M.Ed. program with Concordia University - Portland. In June I accepted an offer as a 1st grade teacher!
