If words and ideas can change the world for the better, many books in the hands of pupils must become a reality. Every time we see youngsters pour over beautiful stories and excitedly share their thoughts about them, "words do change the world!" Nothing is more essential than providing young people with the support and means to dream; daily access to books is non negotiable! Books that include beautifully illustrated Caldecott winners, Newberry's that honor the finest children's books, and titles our students ask for and wish to read? This is the variety of stories we must offer to support youth during their elementary school years; sending children beyond our building with healthy reading and learning appetites is essential.
