I chose the iPad because this is a piece of technology that all students can access. With the varying abilities in my classroom, all students will be able to use it to meet their needs. Some students use it with a switch to read books independently. Some students will use to practice tracing letters or learn to write, addressing their OT goals. The iPad would bring our science learning to life. Having an iPad for this class would enhance everyone's learning and make it easier to meet everyone's needs. The students have also been learning to measure their own progress as they learn. The students are more confident about their learning as the iPad makes it very visual. The data can be printed or emailed to their parents to show how much progress they are making and what areas they still need extra support in.
