Engaging 20 fourth graders all day can be a difficult task. I find myself always telling my students that to be a good reader they must practice, practice, practice! However, getting them to sit down and read a book is a never ending battle. Providing my students with a listening center will allow them to read and listen alongside their peers. By listening to a story, students can pick up on unknown words and better understand the story. And providing students with a fun seat to sit on will take away half the battle. The listening center and flexible seating stools will make reading much more fun and enjoyable for my students.
