Our literature study books are completely falling apart. This novel, Touching Spirit Bear, is about a boy who grows up thinking he is a failure, and he lives up to those expectations until he is given the chance to prove to himself he can turn his life around. I am dreading passing out the tattered books (all over a decade old and falling apart), and I would love to instead hand my students a nice, fresh novel to enjoy. I will protect the books to use for years to come! I have tried to replace other novel study books on my own, but as a teacher and single mom, I simply can’t keep up.
