A major benefit of flexible seating is that students can MOVE (wobble chairs)! Movement in the classroom has been shown to increase focus and participation at school. Unlike desks, flexible seating allows students to quickly move seats to find personal space, pair up with a partner, or form a collaborative group. Students are encouraged to take turns and share supplies when using flexible seating options like these lap desks, floor cushions, and wobble chairs. Flexible seating choices empower students by offering them some degree of control over their learning environment. Many flexible seating options also encourage students' sense of touch which can be especially helpful for those who have ADD, ADHD, or an ASD. I believe that every child deserves an opportunity to work in a space that is most comfortable for THEM. Thank you for taking the time to consider our classroom project!
