Many of my brilliant students have a documented medical diagnosis of ADHD and others are simply easily distracted. All of them physically find it difficult to stay seated and focused in traditional chairs and desks. Additionally, when they do spend all their energy focusing on simply staying seated, they have no brain space left for absorbing the material presented.
