Saln 20 is home to 28 quirky and energetic Spanish Dual Immersion 4th and 5th graders. Many of these kiddos come from English only households yet are bilingual and biliterate at the young age of nine and ten. They are a dedicated bunch that are constantly looking for new ways to challenge themselves. More than 4th/5th graders, they are young adults with an inquisitive nature and a hunger for knowledge. My students thrive in an environment where they have choice and are able to take charge of their learning. Our dual immersion classroom is a community of learners where collaboration is essential to instruction. Each one of my students has a unique learning style and can benefit from a classroom environment that facilitates conversation, collaboration, and movement.
