Kindergarten has changed since we attended! By year's end my students will read, write full sentences, and decompose numbers. But even though education has changed, children's social development needs haven't. They still need to play, pretend, imagine, create, negotiate, and compromise. Dramatic play (and a good kitchen/play area) can foster all of these! Sadly, with today's increased availability of tablets and smart phones, I've also noticed a decrease in my students' language, number sense, and social skills. However, I'm lucky enough to teach at a school that still honors these very important life-skills; I would love some equipment to help out with it..already imagining a cookie shop, pizza parlor, ice cream parlor, farmers market ...
