The Gelli plates for this project will give students the freedom to learn printmaking techniques in an exciting and non-restrictive way. They can paint the image onto a plate, print it on paper, rinse the plate and reuse the same plate almost infinitely. Many students who struggle with fine motor skills find success using Gelli Plates. These students will be able to achieve pattern and motifs they otherwise might have found difficulty Gelli plates will give students an exciting way to explore and express inside their visual art journals because the material is so versatile and easy to use. With these gel prints, students will be able to use watercolor, acrylic paint, and other existing art materials in pieces and in their visual art journals they normally would not be able to.
