Years ago our PTA purchased rugs for any teachers who wanted one as the school had removed the awful carpets and stitched to vinyl. I didn't order one. My students were too old and too big to sit on the floor! boy, was I wrong. We begin the workshop model in reading and writing and small group mini lessons were a way of life. My kids loved coming together in the other classrooms and I want that bond in my room. Not only will this rugs be used for introduction to lessons, but as a common area for morning meetings and a comfortable seating area for independent reading. I especially like the design of this rug which has many inspirational words because we are a Be Kind school and the words will reflect and reinforce the ideals by which we will live!
