The Chromebooks will be used in a small learning station. Our scholars will be engaged in stimulating literacy activities. We will utilize this resource as a way to differentiate learning. For example, scholars will participate in activities that include practice with phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. They will be able to read leveled books, gain more practice with word processing in order to write their own books, and share their work with peers. The scholars will use the Chromebooks to engage in activities from various literacy programs. As a result, different learning styles can be addressed through the integration of sound, text, and moving images. Our Chromebooks will give us the opportunity to infuse project based learning activities into our classroom. As an example, scholars will learn to write using alliteration. They will learn how to create illustrations that support and reflect their writing. They will be able to design their own books and share their projects with the class. Our scholars will be thrilled to use Chromebooks in our learning station. These resources will stimulate their creative minds, enhance their interest in learning, motivate them to do their best work, assist them in meeting the demands of the 21st Century, and promote their overall literacy development.
