I am requesting supplies to be able to make my classroom ready and exciting for my students. In my room I do not stand and lecture, but we learn together as a group. Students will have interactive notebooks where they will use colored paper to create graphic organizers and use markers to make drawings of things they have learned in order to remember them better. They will each have a folder where they will record their own data on how they are doing in math and science and we will see exactly what each child will need to work on. Students will use individual white boards and Expo markers to demonstrate their understanding of concepts through games and interactive responses. Students will write with markers on their desks instead of paper. We will needs lots of dry-erase markers! I am working on task cards and games for my room and I am asking for storage to keep them organized and easily accessible to students. Previously I brought 2 stools from my home to provide a fun place for students to sit on and they constantly fought over who would get the coveted spot. I am asking for 5 more to alleviate the situation. Some of my students will come to school with no school supplies at all and I do not want them to feel left out or embarrassed. I am trying to purchase things I will need in order to make this an engaging, fun, and one of the best years my students have had at school so far.
