Offering students a variety of options for seating helps kids feel ownership in their learning environment. I have tile in my classroom, and students enjoy sitting on the floor when they do their independent reading. A carpet would really help students be more comfortable during activities. The bean bag chairs would give students a choice for their seating. Students shouldn't have to sit in a chair all day. By offering them seating options, they will be physically more open to learning. In addition to bean bags, stools offer student more options, especially when they are collaborating with their peers on projects. The table risers are another way to increase options for my students. I can use them to raise tables and desks so students can stand while working in school.
