The futon I have asked for in my classroom will allow students to sit comfortably on a daily basis for 20-30 minutes per class period while they are enjoying independent reading. By having an inviting classroom environment, students will be able to see reading as something enjoyable, not a chore. Unfortunately, many students do not enjoy reading, and my job as the language teacher is to remedy that. Although students already enjoy my classroom library, they do not enjoy sitting on the uncomfortable folding chairs and, sometimes, on the rug on the floor. Please help us get the seating we need!
