I will use The Lightning Thief books for a literature study on Greek mythology terminology. I will then use the Greek Mythology books I requested to support and further engage students on topics found in The Lighting Thief. In the past, I have found that my students love our Greek mythology unit, but we don't have the necessary resources to support their curiosity. Additionally, I will use the Scholastic News magazines to bring real-world news to the students to boost literacy engagement! These Scholastic News magazines will help students learn to navigate through nonfiction texts. With Scholastic News, the students get access to the news articles online and can increase their computer skills.
