The flex seating will allow my students to have a more interactive library. For my kindergarten class, reading and writing is a time that they don’t enjoy. My classroom library is not the most inviting so when it’s time for centers, library is the last place they pick. With new journals, activities and a different seating arrangement hopefully my students will enjoy reading and writing again! Every child deserves their own writing journal! My first writing journal will allow students to write what they read. My First Journal will allow my students to become more comfortable with writing individually. The leveled sight words will give my students new challenges daily in there writing center. It will allow my students to learn sight words from each level. With the help of the find the letter activity, this will allow my students recognize their letters and learn each letter in the alphabet. Going to the library to read will no longer be a scary thing for my students, instead they will be encouraged to love reading. Their reading levels will improve and by the end of kindergarten, my students will move to first grade reading! When this project becomes funded, my students will understand the meaning of care. They will understand how people other than their family and teachers care about their education. My students will understand how their community cared for their learning environment.
