These audio books will be used for listening centers in our classroom. The kids will sit and play the audio book on a portable device, and be able to follow along with the story independently. I have chosen a lot of Dr. Seuss books because they are always a class favorite, as well as books such as The Carrot Seed and The Three Billy Goats Gruff, since those books are big parts of our reading curriculum. I can't wait for my students to be able to enjoy some of their favorite stories independently! Listening centers are a great way to differentiate instruction for students. Higher achieving students will enjoy reading along to their favorite stories, while lower achieving students will be able to "read" independently and learn the layout of stories, and when it is appropriate to turn the pages of a book.
