Studies show that the more contact students have with books, the better readers they become. This can be done through read alouds, book talks and a well stocked classroom library. Being able to add to my collection of kindergarten books will ensure that I am meeting the reading levels and interests of all students in my 2nd Grade class. Cam Jansen, Nate the Great and Henry and Mudge will be just a few of the characters they will fall in love with and remember! Having multiple books in a series means that they can continue on the journey with their favorite characters. I will also be able to guide my students to books based on their interests that will ignite a love of reading within them. Our classroom library should be a place where students want to go to relax and head off into another adventure! Please help me get my students hooked on reading!
