The books that I have chosen will assist my teaching across the curriculum. Through these books the students will be able to read texts that are enriched with useful information. They will use the books as exemplars as they create their own non fiction writing. The students will also use these books as resources when gathering information to write non fiction reports. History is such an important subject and reading interesting texts and using resources to enhance our understanding intrigues the learner. This project is meant to spark the interest of my fifth graders and develop curiosity as they learn about our nation's history.
